Our practice was founded in 2004 with just one speech language pathologist, and now has grown to a large multidisciplinary agency that employs many providers and staff and is directed by speech language pathologists.Through our agency’s journey, we have not forgotten what the source of our work is: Helping children reach their maximum potential by delivering the highest quality and innovative services.
We are dedicated to excellence in service through: prompt evaluation and diagnosis; individualized therapeutic services; social and life skills enhancement; innovative practices, training and research. Consistent with “Working Together To Achieve Outstanding Results” mission statement, our focus is to develop a facility that promotes services for the whole family all in 1 location and provide excellent services in all of our programs.
Our facility includes two state of the art sensory gyms that enhance all therapeutic services provided at the location. Our cutting edge gross motor and sensory gyms are filled with equipment that create a fun, safe and motivating environment for exploration and movement, as well as opportunities for imagination and pretend play. Furthermore, our private speech therapy suites are conducive for the most optimal therapy sessions. The gym as well as all therapy suites are under video surveillance and can be viewed by parents at any time.

All in 1 SPOT is an Early intervention agency for New York State. Early intervention is a system of services that helps babies and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. Early intervention focuses on helping eligible babies and toddlers learn the basic and brand-new skills that typically develop during the first three years of life. All in 1 SPOT with TheraTalk is a primary speech contract agency for the NYC Department of Education for various districts in Queens and the Bronx. Our providers in the schools employ a passionate, thorough and intensive approach in therapy and provide each student with highly skilled intervention to ensure great progress of IEP goals. Our providers work as a team with the schools to provide a treatment plan that is specific to each child’s unique needs, as well as personalized strategies and goals to foster carryover at home, in school and in their community. Our providers communicate with families, other providers, and teachers, in order to ensure that therapy goals are generalized, as our goal is to discharge students from services.
Dr. Irene Christoforou-Gioules, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, the founder, has been in practice since 1999. Dr. Gioules received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from St. John’s University and her Doctoral/Ph.D. degree from Columbia University. Her initial training was in an acute care setting in which she worked with infants in the neonatal care unit, adults with neurological problems, and children with speech and language disabilities. Dr. Gioules then focused her work in the pediatric population by working in the early intervention setting, and finally opened a private clinic that grew instantly.
Dr. Gioules’ research has focused on swallowing/feeding and motor development in children. Dr. Gioules’ dissertation was titled “The Developmental Coordination of Breathing Movements and Swallowing.” Given that Dr. Gioules’ education surpasses the requirements for becoming a speech language pathologist, she has enlightened her staff with the most effective treatment programs for various speech/language disabilities. Dr. Gioules has treated hundreds of children and provides ongoing training and mentorship to all the providers that join the All in 1 family. Dr. Gioules oversees the early intervention program and the DOE primary speech contract . She trains providers on the provision of services to children according to city and state regulations and ensures that the highest quality services are provided to all children serviced. Dr. Gioules guides her therapists to offer many of the innovative treatments and new technology that are endorsed by research. Dr. Gioules has substantial experience with dysphagia (swallowing disorder), feeding deficits, motor speech disorders (apraxia, dysarthria) and speech/language delays/disorders. Dr. Gioules, along with Mrs. Panayiotou, passionately direct the entire center and their programs.
Maria Panayiotou-Mamounas, M.A., CCC-SLP, co-director of All in 1 S.P.O.T. with TheraTalk, received her bachelor’s degree from New York University, and her master’s degree from St. John’s University. Mrs. Panayiotou completed a Master’s thesis titled “Temporal Patterns in the Speech of Persons with Parkinson’s Disease: Compensatory Shortening and Final Lengthening.” Her research was conducted at Columbia University’s Motor Speech Disorders clinic, where she worked closely with neurologists specializing in movement disorders.
Mrs. Panayiotou has supervised several providers through the years and is an active member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. Mrs. Panayiotou has treated hundreds of children and supervised several providers through the years and is an active member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. She works closely with pediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, occupational and physical therapists to provide a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Mrs. Panayiotou is a PROMPT trained and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment certified therapist with experience in behavioral feeding, apraxia, speech/language delays, developmental/neurological disorders and autism.
Mrs. Panayiotou , along with Dr. Gioules, are the co-creators of the S.P.O.T. Feeding Hierarchy©, an intensive sensory/behavioral feeding program for picky eaters. Mrs. Panayiotou provides training to her staff and medical colleagues on augmentative/alternative communication devices, behavioral feeding, behavior management and other various speech and language disabilities. Mrs. Panayiotou co-directs the NYC Department of Education Primary Contract that All in 1 SPOT has been awarded, to provide NYC children speech and language services in their school. Additionally, Mrs. Panayiotou runs the All in 1 SPOT’s Early Intervention Program, as the Evaluation Supervisor. Mrs. Panayiotou ensures that all of All in 1 SPOT’s programs are running smoothly and that the best quality of service is provided to all the children.
Our speech language pathologists have extensive education and training in various speech-language and swallowing/feeding disorders. Our speech providers are highly trained to evaluate, diagnose and provide therapy for speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in children with a range of disorders and age groups in the school, office or home settings.
They help individuals prevent or improve communication problems such as articulation, impaired language, stuttering and voice dysfunction. All of our speech therapists have master’s degrees and are approved to provide speech services to children in the schools, clinic and early intervention setting. They are trained by the directors to implement effective treatment programs. They are observed by their supervisors with weekly meetings to ensure all the children at our center, our early intervention program and our schools are receiving quality care.
Our providers are trained to work in any setting given the guidance we provide as well as the diverse clinical experiences they have while working for All in 1 SPOT. Through the years, All in 1 SPOT with TheraTalk has offered, incomparable ongoing support, training, and mentorship, making all efforts to respond to our providers’ needs and cultivating a personalized relationship.
We currently have over 80 Speech-Language Providers who work with our families and our schools that have expertise in speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing/feeding disorders/delays.
Dr. Andrew Livanis, is our Early Intervention ABA program director at All in 1 SPOT and trains all the ABA therapists. Andrew Livanis, is a NYS certified school psychologist, a NYS licensed psychologist, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and NYS licensed Behavior Analyst (Lic #000501). Dr. Livanis has worked in a variety of settings and has founded large scale behavioral programs in public and private schools to include children with autism spectrum disorder as well as emotional and behavioral issues. He has worked with other schools to: implement curricula to improve the language functioning of children with autism; implement school-wide positive behavioral supports for all children; and engage in program review and analysis. Dr. Livanis is the currently the Chairperson of the Department of Counseling and School Psychology at LIU in Downtown Brooklyn, and serves as the director of the Applied Behavior Analysis program. Dr. Livanis oversees the ABA therapists in our early intervention program.
Our occupational therapists have expertise in sensory integration, motor coordination, fine motor skills and play skills. They help children with special needs organize their nervous system through playful interactions and various therapeutic activities. Often children with special needs have challenges processing and integrating sensory information. This results in decreased attention span and increased distractibility. Through the playful therapeutic interventions in the sensory gym, occupational therapists facilitate the child’s ability to align their cognition with their emotion which leads to increased attention span and decreased distractibility. We have over 10 occupational therapists that work in various All in 1 SPOT settings.
Alexa Bello, MPA OTR/L heads the occupational therapy department at All in 1 SPOT. She has been an Occupational therapist at All In One S.P.O.T. with Theratalk since 2014, and is a graduate of the University of Scranton with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy.
Our physical therapists target areas that involve the child’s ability to maneuver throughout school and within the community. The therapists aim to maximize independence in the area of mobility, as well as participation in school activities. Developing age-appropriate gross motor skills, strengthening muscles, increasing balance and coordination, and improving one’s motor planning ability are some areas addressed during physical therapy. When appropriate, specialized equipment, such as, adaptive seating, orthotics, crutches, and walkers are utilized to promote maximal functioning ability for our children. We have several seasoned pediatric physical therapists working at our center.
Constadina Balis, M.S., P.T. heads the physical therapy department at All in 1 SPOT with Theratalk since April 2012. Constadina received both her Bachelor of Sciences degree and Master of Arts in 1998 at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. She specializes in pediatric physical therapy and has been providing treatment to the pediatric population for over 15 years in various settings including early intervention, hospital rehab, school based therapy, and clinic based therapy. Dina has extensive experience providing services in various patient population including children diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Autism, Osteogenisis Imperfecta, Familial Dysautonomia, Developmental Muscular Torticollis, Down Syndrome, and Orthopedic Disorders. She also has continuous education in Sensory Integration, NDT, Ball Therapy, school-based treatment therapy, early intervention practices, and diagnosing and treating Torticollis.
Our goal is to provide the most optimal therapeutic experience for children in order to reach the greatest progress possible. The directors’ education at the finest institutions and doctoral degrees help to further their knowledge and share with future staff. The directors invests time, energy and passion in all of their clinical staff as they represent All in 1 SPOT with TheraTalk. The therapists trained at All in 1 SPOT are clinical byproducts of the directors. Therapists at All in 1 SPOT enthusiastically work with various types of disorders and populations to help individuals reach their highest potential.
The All in 1 team of providers are very passionate about their field and believe that a career in speech language pathology challenges an individual to use their intellect in combination with their heart to do the most meaningful work, give a child the gift of communication. The directors continuously challenge all of their therapists to increase their knowledge base and provide the best therapy possible during each and every therapy session. The therapists that work for All in 1 SPOT with TheraTalk are highly trained, and carefully selected. The therapists are trained to employ a passionate, thorough and intensive approach in therapy and provide each child with a highly individualized treatment plan specific to each child’s unique needs, as well as personalized strategies and goals to foster carryover at home, in school and in their community.
