Language Enrichment Summer Camp
Language Enrichment Summer Camp is a weekly camp experience from July 11th thru August 19th with a different adventure each day! Join other Explorers, Inventors, and Creators between the ages of 2-6 years old as they navigate their way through our learning enrichment activities with integrated social skills and problem solving tasks! We provide a fun, educational and safe summer experience for all children!
GOALS AND APPROACH
Language Enrichment Summer Camp provides skill building in the areas of expressive and receptive language, peer relationships, problem solving, attention and self esteem. We employ evidence-based approaches to improving language abilities through structured daily schedules, individualized goals, team/group activities, weekly special events, and daily/weekly reward programs.
CHILDREN
Our summer camp is designed to encourage and foster language growth for typically developing children and children with mild receptive and expressive language delays and attention difficulties. Children are assigned to age appropriate groups and activities are customized for each group.
STAFF
Our camp is run by Dr. Irene Christoforou-Gioules CCC-SLP, a licensed and certified speech language pathologist. Our groups are led by speech language pathologists who hold masters degrees in their field and have extensive training in language delays and development. Our counselors are highly trained and have experience working with children of all ages. All groups will have a 3:10 ratio of staff to child to ensure that all children are active participants in each activity.
ACTIVITIES
Children participate in circle time, reading, arts and crafts, gym, music, guided free play, academic sessions, social skills activities, and problem solving tasks. All activities are designed around weekly themes such as “Outer Space Week,” “Ocean Week” and “Plant Week.” Children will learn skills, concepts, and core vocabulary words related to each theme and participate in fun and educational activities each day as well as weekly special events.
